Hi, I´m Mareike, and I´m a UX Designer with a background in research, finance and event management. My various experience working in interdisciplinary teams has shaped my problem-solving skills, as well as seeing the bigger picture that includes all stakeholders.
Being able to combine research with creativity and visual design has led me to become
an user experience designer.
I am passionate about highly inclusive and accessible design solutions and
I´m looking forward to incorporate science-based knowledge
to remedy everyday problems in the digital world.

Personal Code of Ethics
I want to keep in mind to design products and services for high accessibility and inclusivity.
I will not work on projects or for companies that support or condone racism, sexism, or discriminate based on ethnicity, sex, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or financial status.
I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability, this Oath: I will respect the hard-won knowledge, experience, and clarity of the designers in whose steps I follow, and I will gladly share my knowledge with those who are to follow me. I will apply, for the benefit of the people, all measures that are given to us by the field of UX Research, avoiding those traps of misconception, guessing and assumption.
I will remember that there is creativity and art in design as well as constant change, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding outweigh my own aesthetics and style. I will not be ashamed to admit what I don’t know, or to call in my colleagues when their skills are needed for creating a positive user experience.
I will be especially careful in matters of accessibility, privacy, data security and behavioral manipulation. It is my professional calling to solve problems, improve usability and user experience, but it may also be within my power to explore new ways and establish new standards in doing so; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own shortcomings.
I will remember that I do not design for an anonymous entity or a certain business goal, but a human being, whose choices may affect the person’s family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to design adequately for human beings as well as future clients. I will prevent mental stagnation and creative gridlock whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to reaction.
I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those of sound of mind and body as well as the infirm. If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life, nature, and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling, and may I long experience the joy of solving problems and overcome hurdles for those who need help.

When you can't find me designing and iterating, you'll find me enjoying nature and the moment,
behind the lens of a camera, on my way, chasing the sun.
